Coffee is, with no doubt, one of most popular an delicious drinks on the planet. Also one of the oldest. Its name comes from the Turkish word kawah, that means "what wonder and gives flight to the thought".

This plant is original of old Ethiopia. Testimonies of its consumption exist from the century VIII that was used like food, then like fermented drink, later like medicine and finally like infusion. Within the Arab tradition there are diverse versions on the stimulating discovery of the coffee and its effects.

By fourth consecutive year Honduras makes the prestigious competition "The Cup of Excellence", event of competitiveness and quality of the coffee, where the best coffees produced in the country are identified and awarded.

The Honduran Institute of the Coffee publicly announced the launching of the best coffees of Honduras, inviting to all the coffee sector to be united to fortify the image of Honduras in the international market through this event.
